Bryant Police K9

The Bryant Police K9 Program began in 2002 and is still evolving today. The role of the K9’s in our community is widespread, and the K9’s cover numerous tasks to assist the Bryant Police Department and Bryant Schools.

Bryant Police Department currently has K9’s assigned to the Patrol Division and 1 K9 assigned to the SRO Division. Our K9’s are used to complete similar tasks, they each have specialized aspects in their duties. Together the K9 teams are trained to complete a wide variety of objectives. Having K9’s, and handlers, which perform separate duties, allows the Bryant Police Department to focus K9’s where they are needed the most. K9’s are trained to detect narcotics, article recovery, and tracking. Selected K9’s are trained to complete patrol related tasks such as suspect apprehension, and building searches. The Bryant Police Department K9’s have made several public appearances to educate the community on the many uses of K9’s in law enforcement, and our K9's have become a valuable resource to the Police Department. Over the years, the K9 Officers have become instrumental in keeping your community safe.

K9 training is an ongoing process. K9 training is always evolving, and Bryant Police Department strives to have the best K9 program to serve the community as a whole. K9’s, like many of your family pets, give everything they have. The K9’s receive toys for different tasks, and that is their “paycheck” for serving the community. The K9’s give their all day in, and day out. Our Police Dogs are true law enforcement officers, and we are proud to have them by our side.
