It's hard to believe we are already into the month of November. Another year coming to an end. Every year feels like it goes by faster than the last.
As we move into a season of Thanksgiving, I have to pause to give thanks to the City of Bryant and the supporters of the progress we are making together. However, I can't help but reflect a bit over the past month.
I too am thankful to those who love our city and cause us as leaders to continue to evaluate our leadership as a team. From where I sit, it has felt like too much of my time and focus has been spent on those things that bog down city functions. But, this has helped me grow as a leader and a Mayor and I am thankful I have this chance to serve you and the city of Bryant in this way.
I am proud of the progress we are making at our City Hall. We have spent the past three years listening to ideas, creating new plans, ensuring we have a fully trained staff and now we are starting to see all of that hard work fall into place. Will there still be those who try to slow our progress? Of course. We are a growing city, and with that growth comes change. Change in job functions, change in trainings, change in how we communicate with our citizens and change can be difficult for some. But we can’t afford to be stagnant. We have to keep our focus on the road ahead.
My goal for 2014 is to continue to lead us forward and hope that the detractors will eventually see we are making progress and are leading the City of Bryant forward. Join me this Thanksgiving in being thankful for your City Leaders and City Council in doing all they can to ensure focus is on a positive future and not holding us back from the GREAT CITY we are and will continue to BE!!!
