GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Works under the supervision of Animal Control Director. Other duties may be assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists in the daily functions of the animal shelter and enforcement of animal control regulations.
  2. Operates city vehicle in the course of daily duties.
  3. Maintain the shelter to ensure conditions are sanitary. Performs general cleaning of office, restrooms, and other areas of the facilities; performs minor maintenance of facility and equipment.
  4. Feeds and waters animals according to schedule; cleans kennels and cages using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
  5. Maintains files of each investigation, maintains records cards for each animal impounded; prepares daily reports. Enters data in computer.
  6. Maintain supplies for shelter, such as drugs, food, maintenance items; verifies that all items are received and forward all invoices to the Animal Control Director for payment.
  7. Selects animals to be euthanized and performs euthanasia.
  8. Performs outside maintenance such as mowing grass, trimming shrubs, and general cleanup around the facility.
  9. Notifies owners per ordinance that their animal has been located.
  10. Assists customers in selecting animals for adoption.
  11. Prepares specimens for rabies testing, completes necessary paperwork, and delivers specimens to state lab.
  12. Processes public impounds, owner relinquishments and adoptions, collect monies for fees, issues receipts and completes necessary forms.
  13. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  14. Responds to after hours and weekends emergency calls as needed.
  15. Maintains files of investigations, maintain records, issue citations and warnings to violators; testifies in court.
  16. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Responsible for complex and professional engineering work relating to project/construction activities in operations, installation, maintenance, repair, expansion, and relocation of public works infrastructure. Additionally, this position works with Planning, Code enforcement, the City Attorney, other Department heads and the Mayor to resolve issues associated with projects in the city. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implements city wide construction projects, which include the design of plans and specifications.

2. Performs or oversees construction inspections for streets, drainage, sewer, and water projects.

3. Prepares documents and budget requests; administers adopted budget in assigned area of responsibility. 

4. Assures as-built records of projects, and documents necessary changes for the operation and maintenance programs.

5. Oversees the collection and maintenance of information regarding utility permits and street use permits.

6. Monitors the effectiveness of all engineering programs and projects.

7. Actively reviews procedures in regards to the safety, health, and hazard laws and regulations and monitors training needs.

8. Evaluates utilities capacity, and makes engineering recommendations to correct any deficiencies.

9. Active member at Development Review Committee (DRC) and provide support/attendance of MetroPlan, Planning Commission, and Water/Wastewater Commission.

10. Analyzes trends, such as population and industrial growth of area being served to determine adequacy of current treatment plant  facilities and to project community demands for future facilities. 

11. Develops plans to meet and serve expanding community needs.

12. Inspects city wide projects to confirm conformance to specifications and generates historically reporting.

13. Confers with administrative and technical personnel to coordinate departmental activities.

14. Evaluates new developments in materials, tools, and equipment to recommend or deny purchase. 

15. Prepares budget estimates based on anticipated needs of department and manages actual expenditures within approved budget. 

16. Maintains as-built plans of work completed.

17. Ability to interact with team members.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Duties include performing activities that help the City of Bryant stay in compliance with the six requirements of the MS4 permit issued through the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) as mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency's(EPA) Clean Water Act. This position also helps with the maintenance, repair and construction of the stormwater systems throughout the City of Bryant. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform Construction Site Stormwater Runoff Control inspections. This activity involves doing construction site inspections to ensure new construction operates using best management practices or guidelines of ADEQ that protect the Waterways of the State. This can involve using enforcement actions for violations of the Stormwater Ordinance including issuing Violation Notices and Stop Work Orders. It also involves completion of inspection forms detailing findings from inspections. 

2. Perform Post Construction Runoff Control inspections of construction sites, industrial/commercial sites, and stormwater systems. This activity involves inspecting construction sites after project is at or near completion to confirm ground stabilization, clean up, and that stormwater systems are functioning properly. On-going inspections of permanent stormwater systems such as basins are also performed on a continuous, routine basis. 

3. Perform Public Education and Outreach activities such as training contractors/builders; commercial business operators; and the public in general about Best Management Practices (BMPs) and pollution prevention. Duties performed include training construction site people, canvassing neighborhoods or talking to people at public meetings and training sessions. 

4. Perform Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination/Dry Weather Screening. Activity involves responding to calls and complaints of illicit discharges and in general trying to regulate and prevent acts of illicit discharge through observation and interaction with the public. Dry Weather Screening is annual, routine inspections of stream and creek beds during dry weather to detect signs of illicit discharge. This involves completion of inspection forms detailing findings. 

5. Perform Pollution Prevention and Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations. Involves routinely inspecting municipal, city owned buildings, facilities, grounds and operations to make sure Best Management Practices are in place and being followed. This involves completion of inspection forms detailing findings and conducting training sessions for City personnel. 

6. Assist with public involvement and participation which involves facilitating interactive meetings with contractors, builders and the general public for the purpose of pollution prevention education. 

7. Perform inspection and maintenance of city owned and/or controlled stormwater systems. These stormwater systems may include detention basins, ditches, creeks, streams, drainage easements, storm drains, streets, street inlets, and other stormwater conveyance systems. Maintenance of these systems involve mowing, raking, silt removal, debris removal and trash removal. Maintenance can also involve construction and repair of these systems. 

8. Operate and maintain, in good working order, equipment and tools used on the job. These include hand tools, power tools, vehicles, mowers, tractors, bush hogs, compaction tools, sod cutters, backhoes, trimmers and chain saws. Duties also involve the inspection, care, repair and maintenance of tools, equipment and supplies. 

9. Respond to Public Complaints and Requests. This could be flooding and drainage issues, illicit discharges, stormwater ordinance violations, debris removal, stormwater systems repair, and silt removal. The response involves gathering information in-field, documenting findings and reporting back to the department manager. 

10. Perform inspections and/or construction work for projects either contracted or performed by the City of Bryant. Projects could involve road construction, drainage improvements, and general clean-up of an area. Activities will involve reading and enforcing construction plan guidelines and BMPs. May also involve other activities that support the project and leads to its successful completion. These duties performed could be for another City department. 

11. Perform in-field mapping and detailing of necessary features related to the City GIS. This process involves locating and hand marking printed maps with features of interest for GIS layer building. Features of interest could be detention basins, waterways, street lights, drains, or any other feature deemed necessary. 

12. Document work orders and inspections performed. Documentation must be maintained in an accurate, thorough and real-time manner. 

13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Monitors activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to swimmers by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Cautions swimmers regarding unsafe areas.
  2. Rescues swimmers in danger of drowning and administers first aid.
  3. Maintains order at the aquatics facility by enforcing the aquatic center rules and regulations.
  4. Reports all disciplinary problems to the Aquatics Coordinator.
  5. Inspects facilities for cleanliness.
  6. Participates in providing swim lessons, incorporating diverse and fun activities into each lesson.
  7. May be responsible for cash registers and daily cash handling.
  8. Complete Incident Reports as needed.
  9. Organizes and puts away as needed class equipment and ensures that pool area is neat and orderly.
  10. Reports any problems in staff relationships to the Aquatics Coordinator.
  11. Attends all required staff meetings.
  12. Maintains a current certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR and First Aid.
  13. Informs the Aquatic Coordinator when supplies needed or equipment needs to repair or replaced.
  14. Enforces the aquatic center rules as listed in the staff manual.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Works with The Center Superintendent to implement the vision and goals of the Department. This position is responsible for the effective implementation of the city's diversified public recreation programs by carrying out assigned tasks given by Parks and Recreation Divisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Facilitate recreational activities for community members of all ages.
  2. Prepare facilities (fields, rooms, etc.) for planned events.
  3. Ensure facility is maintained and safe procedures are followed. Report violations of procedure/regulations to the Center Superintendent.
  4. Assist with advertising for upcoming events as assigned.
  5. Monitor recreational events.
  6. Order and maintain sporting equipment (balls, bats, exercise equipment, etc.).
  7. Perform clerical duties. Answer inquiries on upcoming events. Preregister participants.

  9. Coordinate reports for patron injury, accidents and other incidents.
